It's mostly dormant until she experiences moments of great emotional distress, such as the death of someone fighting to protect her, or sensing the great distress of another, at which time she will literally start to glow and expel energy to such a degree that digimon creatures around her may even evolve to a higher power level, even if they're not HER partner.
